    Synopsis

    FP's Symphony I performance, which happens to fall on Halloween, features an under-served gem work by a venerable Russian symphonist with two popular and often performed American classics.

    Guest Artist:
    Fabio Parrini’s activity, developed mostly across Italy and the US, includes recordings, radio and TV broadcasts (with solo programs for the Italian National Radio in Rome and the German Swiss Radio in Zurich), solo recitals, chamber music, collaborative work, and concerto performances with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecce, the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Orchestra da Camera di Belluno, the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Padova, the Heritage Chamber Orchestra, the Greenville Symphony Chamber Orchestra, the Carolina Youth Symphony, the Foothills Philharmonic, the Hendersonville Symphony and Youth Symphony, and the Clemson University Symphony.

    His CD releases www.cdbaby.com/all/parrini feature solo repertoire and collaborations with violinist Eun-Sun Lee. His collaboration with Keowee Chamber Music (www.keoweechambermusic.org), started in 2007, includes performances for the 2008 and 2009 KCM summer festivals and for the International Chamber Music Series at Furman University. He is a Steinway Artist, and was selected for SouthernArtistry.org and for the South Carolina Arts Commission's Community Tour, Showcase, and Approved Artist Roster. Other credits include first prize at the national competitions of Galatina, Osimo, and Cagliari in Italy, the Richmond Competition at Boston University, a Fulbright Grant, a Kahn Career Entry Award, and other prizes. Mr. Parrini is grateful to the Metropolitan Arts Council of Greenville, the Arts Partnership of Spartanburg, the SC Arts Commission, North Greenville University, and many friends and collaborators for supporting his performances and recordings.

    Mr. Parrini is Professor of Music and Piano Coordinator at the Cline School of Music at North Greenville University (music.ngu.edu) and has taught master classes for the NGU Piano Seminar, the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, Clemson University, the Longy School of Music, Emporia State University, and the Point Loma Nazarene University Piano Institute in San Diego. He holds degrees from the Conservatory of Padua and Boston University and has studied with Anthony di Bonaventura, Micaela Mingardo, Gyorgy Sandor, Bruno Mezzena, and Adriana Rognoni.
