Shelly Mamo and Geoffrey Starling share the spotlight in Back to the 80's

From the beginning they have shared the stage now FIRE members Shelly Mamo & Geoffrey Starling share the spotlight in FIRE’s (Fountain Inn Repertory Experience) upcoming show “Back to the 80’s, the totally awesome musical!”

FIRE (The Fountain Inn Repertory Experience) is pleased to present Shelly Mamo and Geoffrey Starling in their first lead roles since this theatre company began. Shelly and Geoffrey have shared the stage but this is the first time they get to share the spotlight. “Back to the 80’s the totally awesome musical!” gives the audience a chance to go back to the 80’s but more importantly see these rep members and several others shine for the first time on our stage. FIRE welcomes several new members to its teen repertory company, WildFIRE, and is sad to see some of them head off to college. “The nice thing about having been with the company from the beginning is that I have had the opportunity to be on stage with so many wonderful people,” said Shelly Mamo, “I am truly saddened at knowing that I will only hear about all the wonderful things going on while I am in college. I will be back next summer for sure and am happy to say that I will dance on this stage again.” Shelly has served as one of the Musical Theatre Summer Camp Directors and will return in that capacity again next summer.

“I am so excited to be a part of this show,” said Geoffrey Starling, “we had our first rehearsal last night and it is a great cast with lots of talent.”

“Back to the 80’s” asks the audience to imagine it’s nineteen-eighty-something at William Ocean High School, where puffball skirts and blue eye shadow are featured, Atari computers are cutting edge and Rick Astley is the king of pop. Teenage emotions are running wild in the graduating class as they experience the fun, the heartbreak, the loves and the loneliness of their final year. . .all set to the biggest hits of the 80’s! The show features live renditions of the most popular songs ever written, including Kids in America, Video Killed the Radio Star, Come on Eileen, Footloose, Walk 500 miles, Total Eclipse of the Heart, Material Girl… and many more!
